Visionary Art by CherylReynolds_Art
Reynolds

My artwork has been shown in Columbia, Charleston, North Charleston, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Camden, South Carolina and in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have done a series of shows in these towns and cities since 1999. I have done several shows at the House Of Blues in the Folk Art Festival held every year in the summer. My greatest inspiration has come from the Who-Ha-Da-Da Outsiders artists. I have had my artwork published in the Carolinian; University of South Carolina's magazine for Alumni. http://www.sc.edu/carolinian/features/fea_02apr_01.html Also, my artwork has been shown in Italy and in Australia. My husband and I have started our own art business called DC Castle Art.
I am a painter of landscapes and seascapes. However, recently I have been painting religious symbols and icons, flowers, children and nature symbols. But, I still paint seascapes and landscapes whenever I get the chance.
This is a painting that was inspired by Jonathan Earl Bowser's painting of "Celestial Apparition". I wanted my angel to be a song of joy and peace to children globally. "Song of Joy," acrylic on canvas.
I connect myself with "Visionary Art" since I am most interested not just the physical and real world of art, but I am interested in the spiritual side of art and what it has to offer others on a conscious and possibly unconscious level. Most of my art is done for my own profit. However, I take what I merely earn to buy the necessary supplies and other costs and expenses for shows, etc., in order to donate art to charitable causes or to someone or something in need of my art.
