Reynolds

My artwork has been shown in Columbia, Charleston, North Charleston, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Camden, South Carolina and in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have done a series of shows in these towns and cities since 1999. I have done several shows at the House Of Blues in the Folk Art Festival held every year in the summer. My greatest inspiration has come from the Who-Ha-Da-Da Outsiders artists. I have had my artwork published in the Carolinian; University of South Carolina's magazine for Alumni. http://www.sc.edu/carolinian/features/fea_02apr_01.html Also, my artwork has been shown in Italy and in Australia. I am the owner of my own art business called DC Castle Art.
I am a painter of landscapes and seascapes. Music does inspire me to create art as well. However, I have been recently painting religious symbols and icons, flowers, children animals, dancers, and nature symbols. But, I still paint seascapes and landscapes whenever I get the chance.
This is a painting that was inspired by Jonathan Earl Bowser's painting of "Celestial Apparition". I wanted my angel to be a song of joy and peace to children globally. "Song of Joy," acrylic on canvas.
My Beliefs and Philosphy of Life and of ART:
I, Cheryl.. connect myself with "Visionary Art" since I am most interested not just the physical and real world of art, but I am interested in the spiritual side of art and what it has to offer others on a conscious and possibly unconscious level. I believe all living things obtain some kind of spirit or energy, and I try to capture the very essense of that force in my paintngs.
I have supported Sistercare of Columbia, SC; a refuge for battered and abused women and children, by showing my art in shows and by helping the shelter to profit from in the past. One of my paintings in their art auction shows did receive a honorable mention. The painting is entitled, "Azalea." Moreover, I support literacy as I have done so with Columbia Greater Literacy Council in Columbia, SC. I don't believe in the cruelty of animals. I do support any outfit that prevents harm or abuse to any living creature whether it be an animal shelter or not. Since I was a little girl, I have always owned strays or free give~a~way pets. However, I am not a vegetarian. Furthermore, I firmly believe that all of God's creatures need love, care and respect because without these things in life, nothing could possibly exist for long on this planet, of course.

"Azalea," oil on canvas, 2003.
Most of my art is done for my own profit. However, I take what I merely earn to buy the necessary supplies and other costs and expenses for shows, etc., in order to donate art to charitable causes or to someone or something in need of my art.
